About the Author: Colleen Ference

Our son showed signs indicating that he was ready to start potty training, however, when we asked him every morning if he wanted to wear underwear instead of diapers, he always responded with an adamant NO. Five months passed and we realized that he was never going to choose his underwear. His strong will and many rejections to start potty training was the inspiration for the idea of the Potty Lady and her toilet training method. Thanks to the Potty Lady our son trained willingly, happily and with pride. Because the Potty Lady’s method worked so effectively for our son, it prompted me to write the book “Is the Potty Lady Coming to Your House?” and to make the “Potty Lady Kit”. I trust your experience will be fun and memorable too.

HOORAY! NO MORE DIAPERS AT OUR HOUSE!!

Our twins celebrated their third birthday on September 23, 2005. One month before their birthday, the Potty Lady came to visit our house and once again we had a fantastic time with potty training. Both Jill and Troy trained very quickly (under one month) with minimal accidents. Even though Jill was very quick to learn day and night time training for peeing, she had some issues with “pooping” on the potty. She has never been constipated but she would still experience some anxiety with the sensation of pooping whether in her pants or on the potty. Lots of support, hugs and encouragement was all we could do to help her along with this part of her training.

The Potty Lady visits were a real hit. When the doorbell rang, all of our kids would bolt like torpedoes to the door screaming THE POTTY LADY’S HERE!!! Our oldest son Scott (who the inspiration for the Potty Lady came from) had an incredible time with this as well. So much so he said to my husband and I “This is fun….I want to potty train again too” EEEKS…The next day and from there on Scotty also received a package and a letter from the Potty Lady praising him for helping his brother and sister to learn how to use the potty. Overall it was a great experience….I am sure the neighbors were wondering what kind of insanity was going on at our house and we could only imagine what they were thinking. “Every night like clock work they put out these red packages on the step, ring the doorbell and run for the hills. They have been doing this for days….What is going on over there? Have they gone mad?” Oh the things we do as parents to bring extra joy to our children’s lives. Have I gone crazy? Yes without a doubt I am crazy. The very moment my children were born and when I saw their faces for the first time, I fell CRAZY IN LOVE with them. And every day, that love for them just gets crazier.
